Our Story

Pam Hand and Will Hueston are two retired veterinarians living on a small farm in central Virginia.  We are committed to the conservation of two rare breeds:  Barbados Blackbelly Sheep and Karakachan livestock guardian dogs.  We also focus on control of invasive plant species on our farm and the improvement of pastures and woods for wildlife habitat and the protection of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.

In his 'spare time' Will volunteers weekly for Habitat for Humanity in Charlottesville, VA.  Pam specially bred Labrador litters solely for providing 76 puppies into service dog training and continues mentoring other dog breeders.  We partner with another local farm to raise Karakachan livestock guardian dogs and use them exclusively on our farm.
